Beyond Tuition

Tuition does not cover all the operational costs for a small independent school such as Alto. To close the gap between costs and tuition, Alto asks all families to participate in fundraising activities such as the annual fund and auction. Contributions to the annual fund are tax-deductible.

In addition, we ask every family to support the school through volunteering. Each family is expected to volunteer for 25 hours each school year.

Financial Aid

Alto offers a needs-based financial aid program, and we work with families to try and make an Alto education affordable. The financial aid application process is independent of the admissions process, though the two must be completed simultaneously if a family is planning to apply for aid. In the case of financial hardship, already enrolled families can submit a financial aid application during the school year.

Alto International School partners with School and Student Services (SSS) by National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) to review applications for financial aid to ensure an equitable and consistent process for distributing financial assistance funds.

  • To begin your financial aid application, please read the How To Apply – Overview and Workbook & Instructions.
  • Next, visit the School and Student Services family portal to start your financial aid application.
  • Applicants and returning families for the 2019-20 school year need to submit their financial aid application by January 18, 2019.
  • Families applying after the January deadlines are requested to submit their financial aid applications at the same time as their completed application.

If you have questions about the financial aid process, please contact us.

Our children are growing into independent thinkers. They are open-minded, tolerant, compassionate and reflective.
