Beyond Tuition

Tuition does not cover all the operational costs for a small independent school such as Alto. To close the gap between costs and tuition, Alto asks all families to participate in fundraising activities such as the annual fund and auction. Contributions to the annual fund are tax-deductible.

In addition, we ask every family to support the school through volunteering. Each family is expected to volunteer for 25 hours each school year.

Financial Aid

Alto offers a needs-based financial aid program and we work with families to try and make an Alto education affordable. The financial aid application process is independent of the admissions process, though the two must be completed simultaneously if a family is planning to apply for aid. In case of financial hardship, already enrolled families have the possibility to submit a financial aid application during the school year.

  • Applicants for the 2018-19 school year who submit their admissions application in time for the January 11, 2018 deadline need to submit their financial aid application by January 11, 2018 as well.
  • Families applying after the January deadlines are requested to submit their financial aid applications at the same time as their completed application.

The financial aid application can be downloaded here.

Our children are growing into independent thinkers. They are open-minded, tolerant, compassionate and reflective.
